PSA: Alright, so this Heartbleed bug is bigger than I think.

synestheticcantaloupe:

fuckyeah-elementaryos:

The Heartbleed bug is a security flaw that affects many websites and services worldwide which uses the OpenSSL encryption method. I broke this news first on a critical security update post which got pushed out into most Linux operating systems yesterday, but I never actually thought it would be this much of an issue.

This means all websites that uses the OpenSSL encryption system is most likely to be affected by this exploit. Meanwhile, Mashable has put out some lists of websites and services that may be affected.

Some websites has put out some official statements regarding this issue, including Tumblr, and recommended their users to change their account passwords.

There’s another more complete list that has been put out, listing Top 1000 website services affected by this issue, but because of how big this issue is, it might be wise to change the passwords of every single account you have.

Apologies for an unrelated post, but judging from the scale of this issue, I felt like I need to point this out, Stay safe, people.

I just found out about this Heartbleed shit going on. All I have to say on the matter is holy shit

Signal boosting this.

This isn’t really relevant to what I normally post here, but it’s really fucking important and I’m posting it on every one of my blogs. I urge you to read this and check out the list of sites that you need to change your password for ASAP. This is some serious shit.

Bleep: A Guide to Electronic Music (Download)

"Bleep’s guide to Electronic Music is a 55 track compilation charting the historical emergence of electronic music by looking at landmark tracks from the 1930s up to present day. Our aim with this selection of music is to show the length and breadth of the medium, providing a snapshot of the genres forms and styles, and the development of the artform. Whilst there are missions and compromises that we have had to make, we hope that we achieve our aims and we do some justice to the variety of music that we love. This compilation developed out of a project to create a Facebook timeline charting the development of electronic music from the late 19th Century until now."
